London, the end of the nineteenth century. STICKLEBACK is a master criminal, pulling the strings amidst the denizens of the capital's underworld, and leads a gang of freaks, oddballs and semi-supernatural entities that have got the city under their thumb.
The planet that eventually became known as DEADWORLD was once a regular civilisation existing in a dimension parallel to our own. But the end of days is coming, and creatures known as the Dark Judges are spreading their contagion, exterminating all life, which they see as a crime. Zombie ‘greys’ are doing their bidding, having consumed the Dead Fluids, and other monstrosities stalk the streets, preying on survivors...
The swollen city of Downlode lies sprawled across the heart of future Europe like a hit-and-run victim. Here, life is cheap - if you want someone whacked, you can't buy better bullet monkeys than Finnigan SINISTER and Ramone DEXTER, the city's primo hitmen.
Inspired by John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction.
Artist Jason Brashill declined the chance to co-create Sinister Dexter but he did paint the cover image to promote the characters' first appearance in Prog 981.
Sinister is Latin for left, while Dexter is Latin for right.
