2000 AD Prog 2173
Mega-City One, 2130 AD. This vast urban nightmare on the east coast of post-apocalyptic North America is home to 400 million citizens, every one a potential criminal. With lawlessness rife, only the Judges can prevent total anarchy. These future lawmen are judge, jury and executioner. Toughest of them all is Judge Dredd - he is the law!
The realm of Zilk, on the fringes of the imagination. Ruled over by the Zultan, figurehead of the Zilk dynasty, it’s a world where science and magic meet – and none is more powerful, or more famous, than the Zaucer himself. Vain, arrogant and accustomed to his celebrity status, he’s the wizard of the royal court – and many would like to see him removed permanently...
The swollen city of Downlode lies sprawled across the heart of future Europe like a hit-and-run victim. Here, life is cheap - if you want someone whacked, you can't buy better bullet monkeys than Finnigan SINISTER and Ramone DEXTER, the city's primo hitmen.
Inspired by John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction.
Artist Jason Brashill declined the chance to co-create Sinister Dexter but he did paint the cover image to promote the characters' first appearance in Prog 981.
Sinister is Latin for left, while Dexter is Latin for right.
The Cube, the 27th century. This vast city floating in the depths of space was once a monitoring station, but has been refitted by the Earth-led Consociation as a solution to a universal housing problem. It’s now home to every kind of undesirable and wanted criminal. That’s where SKIP TRACER Nolan Blake comes in, a former soldier turned tracker, who, after a battlefield injury, was left with powerful psi-abilities...
It is five years after the Last-of-All-War, when the Monarchy succeeded in defeating the Malign Lord, the dark entity that headed an army of creatures that sought to eradicate humanity. With their leader dead, his minions are scattered across the lands, fleeing retribution from the Wretchfinders. Necromancer Bode and warrior Wrath are two such beings, having been declared FERAL & FOE, and therefore sentenced to execution...
