Anyone looking to make themselves a fresh home, away from the trappings of the Old World, can hire a wagon master to guide them safely across the great plains. One such man was Will LaChance, who a year earlier lead a caravan of Mennonites to the West Coast. However, when they insisted upon a route chosen by the Lord, they rode straight through bandit territory. Every man, woman and child was butchered, and LaChance is now a pariah, drowning his guilt in whiskey. But he will be offered salvation by an unlikely group of characters...
